Congratulations to Mickey Dewar, Heritage Co-ordinator at the Northern Territory Library has won the 2015 ALIA NT Recognition Award.
Mickey was
nominated for Borella's War, the making of a legend - an exhibition which formed
part of the NT's Centenary of ANZAC flagship event, the Borella Ride. Mickey will receive
the ALIA NT Recognition Award trophy and $300 cash, sponsored by Raeco.

Co-ordinator at the Northern Territory Library, was
nominated for Borella's War, the making of a legend - an exhibition which
formed part of the NT's Centenary of ANZAC flagship event, the Borella Ride. In
addition, Borella's War was also exhibited at the NTL.
Mickey Dewar collaborated with Matthew Stephen from the NT Archives Service, on the development of Borella's War, with a number of Library staff involved. But Mickey was the intellectual force behind the narrative. The development of the exhibition drew on the collections of both cultural institutions, as well as the research skills of professional staff , to tell an engaging and accurate story of Albert Borella, the NT's only recipient of the Victoria Cross. The exhibition has informed and inspired students, tourists, historians and researchers all about the story of Albert Borella.

2. Facing Tracy Interactive
Media Project, City of Darwin
Libraries
This was one of the feature projects for the City of Darwin's Cyclone Tracy commemorative program. The Facing Tracy booth toured all the City Libraries, and Cyclone Tracy commemorative events for 3 months and culminated in the projection of the final image of 1500 faces onto the TCG Building in Mitchell Street. The whole community was invited to participate and get involved in a unique, shared experience, and to build a community wide digital mosaic artwork. It was a great way to engage the public, collect data and bring the community together.

3. Art in the Aircon, City of Palmerston
Library Team
The City of Palmerston Library Team was nominated for a series of workshops entitled Art in the Aircon. The Library joined with Tactile Arts in providing the Palmerston and rural community with these art workshops within the cool of the air-conditioned library. Workshops were designed to promote and encourage lifelong learning whilst promoting the Library as a community hub, and maximising community engagement. Workshops included henna hand painting, beading and crochet.
The Team was nominated by Maeva Masterson, Library Services Manager, City of Palmerston. Team members included: Anna Ingram (Team Leader), Angela Brayton, Robyn McCann, Nadine Chambers, Kristy Joyce, Laura Crossfield, Hayley Arkinstall, Paige Setter, and Nichole George.

4. Marg Purnell, Clinical Librarian at
the Dept of Health Library
In her role as Clinical Librarian, Marg Purnell has worked extensively with the staff of the paediatric ward, providing research and reference services. During this time, she has developed a great rapport with paediatric nurses, and they asked her to help establish a journal club. Marg was also involved in presenting a critical appraisal session for them, that included interpreting the results within a research study. Marg has continued her involvement in the journal club for the last two years and has developed a web page to assist the nurses develop their skills and support the journal club. Marg's success with the club has led to her being invited to establish a journal club for physiotherapy staff.

They included the implementation of a mobile printing service, which allowed users to access printing services remotely from their device or PC, in the Library or at home; the ChargeBar, a charging station for mobile phones,; a cloud-based counting system which allowed improved evaluation of library usage; and the implementation of the Wheelers ebook platform, an important addition to their eservice provision.
