LIW Dinner and the 2016 ALIA Recognition Awards

Library and Information Week starts next week (yes, it has gone quickly). 
ALIA Top End Group are celebrating our profession by hosting the 2016 ALIA NT Recognition Awards next Thursday 6.30pm with dinner at Nirvana.   Join us for an evening of great company, conversation and a celebration of what we do well. The 2016 ALIA NT Recognition Awards recognise achievement, innovation and excellence, Mickey Dewar from NTL was the recipient in 2015, who will be the next?

The menu looks great with a $35.00 set menu banquet, catering for all, but we’d love an RSVP by Tuesday 24th to make sure we are on track.

Hi everyone

I am pleased to call for nominations for the 2016 ALIA NT Recognition Award, which once again, is being proudly sponsored by Raeco.

The ALIA NT Recognition Award is an annual merit prize which is aimed at:

·         encouraging recognition of an individual or team working in any sector of the library and information profession in the  Northern Territory

·         providing an opportunity to promote innovation and excellence within the library and information profession

·         increasing the profile of the profession

The winner will be announced during Library and Information Week and will be presented with the perpetual trophy and $300 cash.

Nominations are due COB Monday 6 May 2016.

April PD: The road less travelled: new directions for Northern Territory Library

The Northern Territory Library (NTL) team will share their experience of leading, developing and representing the library sector in the Northern Territory as part of the 2015 - 2018 Strategic Plan.

NTL leaders will describe the process supporting the development of the new Library Management System through effective collaboration with sectoral stakeholders, timely distribution of information, generous exchange of knowledge and goodwill as a foundation for trust.

Great conversations like this one, ensure we all retain professional knowledge from our mobile workforces, and develop staff capacity and confidence to deliver contemporary library services throughout the Northern Territory.
