Along with other guest speakers who will be presenting on the Symposium theme, “Enabling Universal Literacies in the Digital Age”

In the digital age, the information industries - GLAMR* and ICT**- are critical partners in helping to achieve all of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“Public access to information in all its forms enables people to make informed decisions that can improve their lives. Communities that have access to timely and relevant information are better positioned to benefit from quality education, see a reduction in inequality, and are supported when it comes to health, culture, research and innovation…” (IFLA, 2015).

Our guest speakers will address how information industries are attempting to achieve the SDGs through the subthemes of access, education and sustainability.
