Congratulations to the Northern Territory Library (NTL) for winning the 2013 ALIA NT Recognition Award. The NTL iStories Team was nominated for developing the new NT Languages Anindilyakwa smartphone and tablet app, in collaboration with the Groote Eylandt Community. iStories is a library program using iPads for learning and literacy. Everyday words and phrases in Anindilyakwa and English are translated and illustrated with pictures. It is a bilingual literacy tool for people in Anindilyakwa communities, as well as English speaking visitors to the region. Team members include: Anha Tait, ai Remore, Groote Eylandt Linguistics and Disparity Games. The nomination was made by Marilyn Hawthorn.
